Every day is like Halloween

If I were going to a party tonight I would undoubtedly go as my Dark Shadows doppleganger, Carolyn Stoddard.

According to the Dark Shadows quiz, G is most like Quentin Collins.
Although Carolyn was under the spell of Barnabas for a while, it's obvious she and Quentin make a good match.

All is not lost

Another little winged creature was saved from the clutches of certain death by the Drake Street bird rescue. Our back windows have proven to be hazardous to little birdies at times not to mention the apt killer we keep as a domestic pet, a.k.a. Clementine who is always close at hand to snatch them up while they sit in a daze. For reasons unknown G named our little bird Quito. Thank the heavens this story, like Peapod's, had a happy ending.

Notice the killer locked inside showing no remorse.

Thankfully our other beastie has no real interest in killing - Elliott prefers walking around the house in makeshift capes.

Traveling on Highway 58

1985 Forever

Nightmare on Elmstreet 2 played last night on ghetto channel 45 much to our delight of wanting to get into the Halloween spirit. It was of course beyond horrible due to many unlistable facts, one being that nothing scary happened. Ever.
Except for this scene, which kinda made it worth it.

I'm super productive in an parallel universe

In a parallel universe I would no doubt be a diligent blogger, avid exerciser, dazzling cook and world peace trailblazer, but alas I reside in this universe where I currently remain uninspired and lazy. I got to thinking of this phenomenon while G and I were watching Parallel Worlds, Parallel Lives on PBS last night. The Many Worlds Theory (basically) states that everything that is possible happens, if not in this universe, in others. So later today when I'm sitting on the couch reading US magazine, the me in a parallel universe has decided to get up off the couch and clean the bathroom.
I admire that girl.

Book of Love

"I Love David" book by Harry Malt video by The Selby from the selby on Vimeo."

Although I've had a major crush on Michael Hutchence since the 6th grade I didn't write an I Love Michael book. I did however purchase an INXS biography on sale for $4.99.

Music and Vampires

These days I've been more than a little bit in the mood for Swedish music and watching Buffy on Netflix. I just noticed that Lykke Li and Buffy share shockingly cool tough-girl style.

Obviously Robert preferred that style too.

Amen!

My favorite part of the debate last night was when Obama said "The Straight Talk Express lost a wheel on that one."

October 5 - Avila Beach

G and I spent the weekend in San Luis Obispo due to G participating in his first Olympic Length Triathlon. Despite the crazy rainy and grey weather he did fantastic! Even though I've been swimming laps lately I took one look at the vast dark lake where the swimming course was set up and decided I'd rather die than swim a mile in it. Of course it was perfectly sunny the next day...

Yo Amo El Perro Del Mar!

This Swedish band with the Spanish name has won my love. Poppytalk put up one of their videos yesterday which is really cool, illustrated by artist Asa Arnehed. (See some illustrations below.) This other video for their song Party is really beautiful and a touch more creepy. In a beautifully creepy way.
