Heritage and Style

While my mother's side of the family is Colombian and my uncle owns an alligator farm there, I'm not sure if we are official members of the Bogota Gun Club. I'll have to look into that. I do however have to agree with P. about the emblem!

Pass the Mango with Chili!

It finally happened. I got sick! I can't breathe, my eyes are red and glassy and I have a cough like a barking seal. However, I found relief by indulging in some spicy treats. P. from PFTP refers to the practice of spicy food relief as Shock & Awe Therapy. (Warning: have plenty of tissues handy.)

Although M.I.A. prefers her mango with salt and pepper, we're sure she would love any fresh cut fruit with chili powder and lime juice!

Or if you have access to Vietnamese food, try Pho! (No, not Foe, Fuh!) My favorite is the traditional seafood concoction with bean sprouts, fish sauce, and lime wedges. Yum!

Bon Appétit!

Two P's in a Pod

My friend P of PFTP, the home of the loveliest handmade lavender pillows and necklaces you ever imagined, directed me to the a blog called Poppytalk - "a canadian design blog collecting inspiration and promoting emerging design talent." I mean, when did Canadians ever steer you wrong?

Then, after spending considerable time browsing through the collection of fabulous things I stumbled upon Poppytalk Handmade, a monthly online street market curated by Poppytalk to showcase, buy and sell handmade goods of emerging design talent from around the world.

You should really look around PFTP and Poppytalk, but beware, the cute level is very high.

It's not so bad here...

Upon coming home from drab work yesterday, I noticed some curious spring-like behavior going on around the yard and it made me feel a whole lot better.
